"Me too pencil lead to the left thigh, looks the same as it did then."

Left palm here. 4th grade. Had the pencil backwards in my hand as I reached into my desk. The pencil caught on something but my hand continued. Ouch! As I look under the light now, I can still see it.

lol

Thats 4 or 5 FReepers at least who have a permanent pencil lead wound marks.

I will wear it more proudly than before.

We should keep it quiet though because they might outlaw pencils.

I don't care how much I get flamed for this...John Kerry served in Viet Nam. He was injured several times and saved at least one person's life. He served his country til he decided the war was futile and then he spoke out against it. Find something else to criticize him about.

So what, I've got pencil lead in my left shoulder from sword fighting in the 3rd grade with MaryLou. Just broke off in my arm, put a bandaid over it and its still there after 43 years.

Where's my Purple Heart? Only joking.

>"HM3" or "HM2" ? Inexperienced E-3, E-4 corpsmen?

An HM3 is an E-4 and an HM2 is an E-5.

The Casualty Reports on Kerry's web page state that he recieved his medical care aboard two different Coast Guard cutters: USCGC Spencer (WHEC-36) and USCGC Wachsetts (WHEC-44). So, his medical care was not even rendered by combat Navy Corpsmen as serve with the Marines or combat Army Medics.

There is no Coast Guard Medical Corps so I would be very interested to see the rank and branch of service of the individuals that treated Kerry.

Is it any wonder that Kerry's staff only allows verbal briefings (no copies allowed of the Medical Treatment Record) to civilian reporters who would not know "HM3" from "Heinz 57"?

What happened to Kerry's face? Did he take a hit there?

And what about PCF 94's assault on Cia Nap, on March 13 1969 - when Kerry was supposedly OiC, but he's not listed as OiC - LTJG Danial Salinas is listed as the OiC of PCF-94 at least on that day...

The proper authorities reviewd and awarded the purple hearts. So is a "conservative" now telling me the US military is staffed by fools and liars who got fooled by Kerry? Move along.

John Kerrry did everything he could NOT to serve in Vietnam. When he found himself in Vietnam combat he did everything he could to sea-lawyer himself out of his combat tour. He succeeded in his efforts and only served four months of his one year combat tour.

Now, he advertises himself as the great hero and allows scum like DNC Chairman Terry McAuliffe to attack George Bush's Vietnam era service.

What goes around comes around.

This ought to end the Purple Heart controversy. I believe it was a false issue all along. Feel free to flame away.

I,too, have lead from a pencil in my neck. It came from giving my dad a hug when I was 5-6. He had it sticking out of his shirt pocket. I thought I was the only one living with such an impediment.

Like you said, injured. Because
we do not know if he was wounded
in combat. We do know he has hyped
up his citations over a period of
years. We do know he cries 'Nam
all the time, unlike most of our
quiet warriors. We do know he met
with enemy reps, endorsed their
one-sided terms, slammed America
& accused his brethren of routine,
unspeakable atrocities.

Other than that.....

Yeah, no biggie, let's move on...

> Doyle, who has treated Kerry since 1986, said Kerry still has the shrapnel in his thigh today, but has never complained about it bothering him.

Does this sound believable?

I would think that shrapnel in one's thigh would limit one's ski bunny adventures. Why, oh why does John F'em Ke(rr)y remind me of Wisconsin's AG Keg Goldschlager (D-Fond du Lac)?

JFK brought the Vietnam issue forth in this election. Why? I don't know except he has very incompetent campaign managers, or else he is himself, stupid.

But, if he continues to run on his war record, I will question it.
