In physical numbers the referendum passed by 8,963 votes in an electorate of 1.5 million. So just as I said - a turn of less than five thousand votes would have defeated the thing.

LOL! You're pathetic. Here are the actual totals, showing the 4% margin of victory. In physical numbers the referendum passed with 12,682 extra votes.
