Mission of the National Catholic Prayer Breakfast In response to the call of Pope John Paul II for a New Evangelization, new in ardor, methods and expression, we have established the National Catholic Prayer Breakfast for Catholics from across the nation to gather together in worship and fellowship, to deepen and reaffirm our faith and renew the dedication to our Nation, and ourselves in serving God as He calls us, thanking Him for our abundant blessings received, and to commit our country to the protection of the Blessed Virgin Mary, and to support the poor and most vulnerable in America and around the world.
Charitable Contributions
While this is not a fundraiser, money will be generated by ticket sales and larger gifts. Please know that all proceeds, after expenses, will go equally to the Sisters of Life, a contemplative/active religious community dedicated to protecting and advancing a sense of the sacredness of all human life, and to the Holy Father Pope John Paul II through Peters Pence, which receives financial support offered by the faithful for the works of the Church, for humanitarian work and social development work, as well as for the support of the activities of the Holy See.
Given the fact that the initial keynote speaker is Avery Cardinal Dulles, this should be a well-grounded, clear-thinking group. Dulles is a frequent contributer to First Things, a journal of contempory religious thought edited and published by Richard John Neuhaus.
