Outkast's "Hey Ya" grabbed a Grammy Award this year, but Old Saginaw City bars don't want patrons -- as the flamboyant hip-hop group's lyrics go --to "shake it like a Polaroid picture."
Under pressure to stem a tide of shootings, some pub owners say they will stop playing the popular dance music widely linked to violence.
A fatal shootout last month at Captains Cove and the gunfire outside Shenanigan's Irish Pub two weeks later have stoked fears of gang-related fights regularly spilling into the watering holes.
While many blame hip-hop, others say the shootings flow from revenge and that shutting off the music will only hurt businesses.

The author of this piece should have picked a better example to make his point. "Hey Ya!" is in no way violent.
