It seems like forever ago, but was just November I had to send one of my guys to Kuwait as an escort.
The USAF was really something. They emptied a C5 to take the body and escort immediately instead of making them wait for a later, smaller flight. They showed diginty as respect the whole way. And they never even knew the dead civilian who worked indirectly for them.

and civilian - into harm's way.
Two more that opened my eyes a bit, powerful works that should be required reading by every civilian - and especially members of our press who exploit every casualty without understanding the courageous choice to serve, and what our troops sacrifice for our freedom.
