Noelle finally chose to go diaperless and looked to traditional cultures for inspiration. "How I longed for a simple, dirt-floored, baby-friendly hut like that of a Yequana family," he wrote.

This is showing their ignorance.

Dirt floor? In Africa and India, the floors are actually not dirt, but a mixture of cowdung and clay, that when dry is as shiny as linoleum.

and although children in some cultures walk around naked, they usually are carried on the backs or sides of moms, cousins, or siblings

American Indian children carried on boards had a small hole over the front so mom could place moss and change it when it got wet.

African kids are carried on mom's back with a Mbirecki, and they also place moss there. They now use cloth diapers.

I too have read anecdotal stories about moms holding two year olds out after feeding and the kids go on command, but haven't seen this in third world countries.

Wonder if they are mixing up toddlers with infants? Toddlers in China used to have "open pants" in case of accidents. They are now being shunned due to hygiene.

Finally, hookworm kills millions of children. Hookworm comes from lack of toilets, where feces are left on the ground, and where eggs are eaten or larvae dig thru the skin of bare feet. A major cause public health initiative to prevent this is toilets and diapers and eliminate bare feet. So we "save" the earth and kill kids...

"Save the earth and kill kids" is almost a slogan for earth day.

I wonder what the ewackos think about the practice of millions of baggies of dog feces being thrown into garbage collections every day in America. While human waste gets very expensive sewage treatment, there is an awful lot of stuff that is not getting treatment - and not causing any concern to these earth-lovers that I am aware of.

"I too have read anecdotal stories about moms holding two year olds out after feeding and the kids go on command,..."

We may have something here. Take well-fed Freeper tots to a Kerry rally and on Mom's command... Now there's a message to Mr. Kerry and what we think of his so-called plans for our country.
