Peanut butter takes gum out of hair.
Use dishwashing liquid or something to get rid of the peanut butter.

Since none of you want to run out to the store(drunk) tell us what products you have available....(tell us before you try using it)........I would think repeated washing with soap is your best bet.

As someone who has raised six sons, let me tell you this:

When son #4 was 3 years old, his brothers threw burrs on his head. He had long blond hair halfway down his back. We shaved his head.

I'm not female but it sounds like he went to sleep with some gum in his mouth and woke up with it in his hair.

If it is gum, peanut oil (hence the peanut putter comment) will dissolve chewing gum but it does take an hour or so. I have had to do this with my kids several times.

If you want to have some fun, after rubbing the peanut butter into his hair, spread some jelly on it and have him hold it in place with a piece of bread.

It probably depends on how much. A friend in high school slicked her hair back with baby oil for a play. Shampoo wouldn't touch it.

That is an excellent suggestion. We need to know the original substance (at least its properties) and what items are available in the cabin.

There's a good product called 'Nair'. Rub it on, wait about 10 minutes then rinse.

That's a hair remover! lol

I'm trying to compose myself enough to type. I loved the Nair suggestion. I've literally got tears running down my face.

I showed long-haired dogs for 25 years. Rubbing in cornstarch and brushing it out cleaned up anything.

I'd say this is a (an?) historical FR moment, for sure!

hey if he's already scalp deep in peanut butter, the rest of you guys should just lob your chewed gum at his head. Just to see if peanut butter will rebel it. Let us know if this works.

RID is excellent for lice. It works better than the prescription stuff.

I heard a burlap bag with a really hungry raccoon inside does the trick. Oh, wait a minute...that was for something else.

I think before we divulge any more recommendations or hair care wisdom, we deserve to know what your BIL got in his hair, originally.

Time to fess up.

I have images of that Ben Stiller movie, "There's Something About Mary" playing over in my head.

Inquiring minds need to know.
