Specter is too old. Pennsylvania needs new blood to represent its interests in Washington, IMHO.
One can see that Specter can no longer sail with trimmed sails and an even keel when over the years he has collected support from such barnacles as George Soros, Harold Ickes Jr., Ron Carey, Arthur Coia, Richard Ben-Veniste, Alan Dershowitz, Barbara Kennelly, Ted Kennedy, Charles Schumer and a smattering of left-wing and/or corrupt unions.
The tide is turning. It's time for a major overhaul to scrape the hull and clear the decks. Meanwhile, for this drunken sailor, it is too late to shape up and ship out. The voters should see to it he walks the plank.

Anyone coming to the HUGE Toomey-Dr. James Dobson rally Friday night in Lancaster??
Specter's ads he has been running in Lancaster County basically infer that Specter is pro-life and say that Toomey is pro-abortion and pro-life!
Dobson will help any confused pro-family person to see who is thinking about the family! The rally is at the Host Exposition Center behind the Host Resort on Route 30 in Lancaster. Doors open at 6:00 and the rally starts at 7:00. Free admission. Join us!!

Wish I could. I'm a Californian, where we have NO decent Senators.
But I've wanted to see Specter (soundly converted to Christ or) politically paid back for Borking, etc., since I first knew of him.
This would be sweeeeeeeeeeeeet.

If Thomas' nomination [[was one year earlier or later, he would not have had Specter's support.]] He always swings to the right in the final year of this term because he needs conservative votes to win....Good Riddance then...an *&^%$#@!@#$%^&* RINO.

Really? That is the first I have ever heard that. I read Slouching Towards Gomorrah and noticed no such inclinations.
Do you have a link or info where Bork is anti-2A - if it's true, I'd be very interested in reading it.
To: 7thson
I will admit that I only read this thread for the photos.

PA folks might e-mail Ann's story to their local newspapers and ask them to publish this exciting story.
I e-mailed Sean's, Drudge's & Rush's radio shows & asked that they have Ann Coulter or Congressman Toomey on their show. Many folks are stuck with the fact that Specter helped Clarence Thomas, but he only did it because he was up for reelection the following year; this is Specter's M.O. to do something conservative before an election only, and the truth needs to get out!

He voted to approve Clarence Thomas. His ass was on the line next year too, and he barely won that election, beating the woman Democrat candidate by only 49 to 46 percent.
Spectator ALWAYS votes conservative in the last year of his Senate term.
To: IronJack
I'm staying out of the Specter-Toomey fray since I am not from PA; but I have just one thing to say about Specter voting against impeachment: Can you say PRESIDENT Gore? If Algore had been elevated to President in 1998, he, not President Bush, would be living in 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue right now.

"Do you have a link or info where Bork is anti-2A - if it's true, I'd be very interested in reading it."At the time of the Bork confirmation hearings I was very active in the John Birch Society and got it from them, but I seem to remember NRA sending out snail mail alerts to lobby against him. I also seem to remember (sorry I can't be more precise, I just came home from a faculty meeting and I'm truly wiped out) that some of his published opinions had reflected an anti 2nd Amendment bias.

I think that a short term in the Oval Office to replace an impeached clinton would have done nothing to solidify his hold on that office, but rather to remove any doubt that he was a capable or competent executive.
