These guys have had a grand total of 6 weeks training (some only 2 weeks) and they've been thrown into the caldron. They're not ready for it. I understand that 50% of the troops have done exceedingly well. That's the group we should draw the new officers from and the police captains. The others will obviously require more training. Those who fight with the other side, should be targeted and disposed of along with the other terrorists.

We created a US Constabulary in 1945, a Nicaraguan National Guard in 1925, a Hatian Gendarmerie in 1915, a Philippine Constabulary in 1901, and Apache Scouts in 1880. The British are no slouches, either. Lawrence was one of theirs. They had Assyrian Levies, Iraqi Levies, the Trans-Jordan Frontier Force, Trucial Oman Scouts and don't forget the Arab Legion. The key thing about most of these forces is that they were overwhelmingly indigenous with American or British leadership.
