Welcome to the Islamic States of America, sick. We can't even know our own enemy. The societal toilet has been flushed, hang on and enjoy the ride.

Only info I could find on the specifics of the amendment:

http://hamtramck.us/Departments/COUNCIL%20PACKET%20ITEMS/minutes/2004%20minutes/020304%20Minutes.htm
HAMTRAMCK CITY COUNCIL MINUTES FEBRUARY 3, 2004

"Councilperson Ahmed initiated discussion regarding amendment of Ordinance 434 and offered the following resolution.

Resolution by Councilperson Ahmed.

RESOLVED, that the Common Council hereby does request our legal department to draft amendments to Hamtramck City Ordinance 434 for the purpose of regulating amplified "calls to prayer" with specific restrictions regarding level of amplification, schedules, duration and a method of resolving complaints. The amendments should include the following points:

The level of all amplified broadcasts must be set as to not cause valid complaint as determined by the Council.

The "call to prayer" may be amplified only from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. for duration not lasing longer than five minutes.

Any complaints shall be referred to the Council and the Council shall, after consultation with parties involved, decide on a course of action to resolve the complaint.

Such actions may include a requirement to reduce the volume, reduce the duration, and change the direction of the amplification or in the extreme, for the amplification to cease. The Council may make the determination that a complaint is not justified and therefore requires no action.

Supported by Councilperson Cedar.

Carried unanimously."

So, then... the city fathers won't have a problem with Christian churches in that area getting their own loudspeakers that say: "Jesus is Lord!"

The Bangladeshi al-Islah mosque wants to air the Arabic call to prayer via loudspeakers five times a day, but agreed Tuesday not to air the calls before 6 a.m. or after 10 p.m. The council indicated it would give the plan final approval next week.

I could just vomit.

"Michigan City OKs Islamic Calls to Prayer"

Allow me to make a prediction here. My prediction is that sometime during the first half of this century the Islamic government of Hamtramck, MI will ban any and all Christian activity within the city. Violations of this edict will be met with violent and brutal force by the city government.

Those of you who believe that Islam is a "religion of peace," take note.
