One thing about Kerry and Bush is that both of them receive all their donations from people that support them. Neither is getting matching funds ( I believe). Nader, on the other hand, wants his campaign supported largely by those who do not support HIM. If you cannot survive without matching funds then maybe you do not really have very strong support.

Neither President Bush or Sen. Kerry have taken Fed matching funds for the Primary season, but both have indicated they will take them for the Campaign which becomes effective for them when they are nominated/accepted at their respective conventions.... The estimated funds will be somewhere around $75 Million each. Thus Kerry will begin spending his allotment about 33 days prior to Bush...
