Couldn't agree with you more! I am so tired of the whining. America is still the greatest place on Earth. And if we sucked as much they say, why is everybody trying so hard to get here, legally and illegally? It's called Freedom. We have it, most places don't.

My grand parents came here in the early twenties. They had nothing and nowhere else to go. They just worked and succeeded. This is still done by immigrants to this country all the time. If you come here and fail, you were going to fail anywhere you lived. At its worst, (and even that ain't bad) the US is still worth fighting and dying for. The first generation of my family who were actually born here (aunts, uncles, my father as well) volunteered, no questions asked, for WWII service. They were proud to do it and happy to finally demonstrate their gratitude to the country which adopted them. No nation on earth can boast such allegiance to itself from immigrants and newly naturalized minorities. America is the most gargantuan political experiment and spectacular national sovereignty success story in history. Match that!!
