The Danish businessman kidnapped in Iraq has been found dead, the country's Foreign Ministry has announced.
The man's body was discovered by Iraqi police on April 12 - the day after he was reported missing.
He was snatched by unknown attackers while travelling on a road near the village of Al Taji outside Baghdad.
Details about how he died or where was found were not immediately available.
The kidnap victim has been named by one Danish tabloid as 35-year-old Henrik Frandsen from Copenhagen.
It said he was in the country to open a water purification and electrical appliance store in the southern city of Basra.
Mr Frandsen is the second Dane to die in Iraq.
The first was a soldier, Cpl. Preben Pedersen, who was killed last August by friendly fire while on patrol.
Denmark, which backed the US-led invasion of Iraq, has 410 troops in the southern city of Basra and nearby Qurnah.

Is this a surprise? These terrorists kill with impunity and use their murders to stir up fear and cause world support for a democratic government in Iraq to wane.
Given their success in getting the Spanish to pull out of Iraq, and likely the Japanese and others, kidnapping and murder of foreign nationals is a very useful strategy to pursue.

I see that EagleEye is posting tasteless gallows humor as he is posting on FR as a civilian in Iraq.
I guess Harry Browne/Libertarian tastelessness never dies, nor will it ever fade away.

Can't you even come up with something clever for this besides your usual anti-libertarian screeching??

I know that you are in Iraq as a civilian and do sincerely wish and hope that you stay out of harms way, but I do find it ironic that you are working in Iraq as a civilian helping our troops fight the terrorists, while the person you voted for, Harry Browne, Libertarian Predisntial candidate in 2000, blamed 9/11 on America.
