A day in the life of President Bush (photos): 4/20/04

Posted on 04/20/2004 6:33:47 PM PDT by rintense

President Bush headed to Buffalo, NY today to discuss Homeland Defense and specifically, the Patriot Act. Bush made his case that if parts of the Act expire, it could weaken our homeland defense. The President then headed to NYC for a victory luncheon fundraiser. Meanwhile, First Lady Laura headed to Louisville, KY to attend and award ceremony. Enjoy your daily dose of Dubya!

I thought Karen Hughes (if that's who you are talking about - I'm so tired I'm beginning to lose track of the interleaved discussions) is pro-abortion. Of course, after being around this loving man who believes that life begins at conception, and a baby is a person, it's possible that she's changed her mind. But I know I've read articles about her stance on abortion and I didn't like them.

I remember when the President was wrestling with the stem-cell research, she provided all of the arguments FOR doing it as she believes whole-heartedly in doing stem-cell research in the hopes of curing some diseases.

IMHO, the President got it exactly right. Killing growing embryos, even at the 2-40 cell stage is still killing a baby, and based on that, he made that important speech on "No stem-cell resarch while I am President, except for existing lines" which a lot of us didn't like as well.

Are both the President and First Lady going to be there?

I'm not sure which way she'll go. First I thought she was going to try to take the nomination at the convention; or maybe the VP spot. Even if they lost, she'd still be first in line for 2008.

But lately she's been saying she doesn't want VP - which she was lobbying for last month. Who knows. If she decides Bush isn't beatable - she may opt to just deep six sKerry long about October (and she's already alluded to an October surprise to the press). Don't forget, ABC is holding a video of the intern - perfect timing would be sure to do sKerry in.

And .. there's always the NJ method of getting rid of sKerry - his health or something - whatever excuse Hillary can think of to be allowed to replace him. They got away with it before, and it wouldn't surprise me if they try it again with a Presidential candidate. She might think she can sneak in under the radar - but we already have her pegged.

Quite frankly, I don't really care what she does. I just know that many people I have spoken to have said her entry into the race will activate them even more; along with all their neighbors.

Not sure about The First Lady...
I wonder if they are going to weekend at Kennebunkport...
If that is the case, I will go there as well!!
Senator Snowe gave Mr.B the tickets...
It will be a grand day, I hope!

They got away with it before, and it wouldn't surprise me if they try it again with a Presidential candidate.

It would not be susrprising, if sKerry got elected and Hillary was VP to have sKerry step down ( for what ever reason, contrived by the Clintons) and Hillary would become the President. There is nothing they would not try to get her into the top spot.
