Are you saying you'd rather have the Taliban and Saddam back in power?

As long as the US government isn't involved, they can have anyone running their countries that they damn well please. I don't have any particular opinions on who I want running lots of countries around the world. In fact, of the 179 countries in the UN, 178 of them can pick whomever they choose. Let's start with our own country before we worry about "regime change" in Afghanistan or anywhere else.

And you can bank on this: I'd sure as hell rather have Slobodan Milosevic back in power in Serbia instead of the KLA Muslim terrorists running things over there.

"As long as the US government isn't involved, they can have anyone running their countries that they damn well please."

Remember the deal? After 9/11 Bush said, "If you harbor terrorists we are coming after you." And we did that in Afghanistan and we won and it was the right thing to do. Now we have to stay so the Taliban does not come back and allow for the training of terrorists who will come and kill us. We have no choice. And the majority of Afghans are glad we are there. We helped those people. They had little or nothing and we liberated them. You should be proud. What in world is wrong with your head?

"I don't have any particular opinions on who I want running lots of countries around the world."

Well I do and if you are interested in peace you should to. Did you have an opinion about Mao or Stalin or Hitler? Get real okay.

"In fact, of the 179 countries in the UN, 178 of them can pick whomever they choose."

They can pick who they choose but if they mess with us we have to deal with them in various ways appropriate to each situation. Just because we can't go after ALL the evil leaders in this world that are screwing up the world and screwing with us does not mean we can't go after SOME of them.

"Let's start with our own country before we worry about "regime change" in Afghanistan or anywhere else."

No. Let's not. Let's plant the seeds of democracy in the Middle East as difficult as it is. They will be better off, and we will too. It is the calling of our generation. We can't ignore this problem any longer we have to face it head on.
