Would that God would give every last Brit the dream tonight that the dastardly event, and the carnage, had actually happened. Then, when they awoke and realized that the event had been preempted, maybe they would go to their knees in gratitude. Maybe, too, they would be better able to act, and legislate, as though there HAD been massive loss of life and a gory scene forever etched into the collective mind. Roundups and deportations rightly would ensue.
