Israel managed to find and kill Abdel Aziz Rantisi by placing one of his bodyguards under surveillance, Channel two's Arab affairs analyst reported Monday night.
Rantisi was killed, along with two of his bodyguards, in an IAF missile strike Saturday night.
Channel 2 reported that on the day of his assassination, Rantisi was dressed in disguise as an old Arab man. The disguise included an Arab cloak (Abaya) and headdress (Kafiyeh).
His bodyguard was 'tailed' by a Palestinian collaborator, who called in his Israeli contacts the moment Rantisi and his entourage were about to switch cars near Rantisi's Gaza home, Channel 2 reported.

More awesome is the Mossad getting this into the news so that they can monitor the changes Hamas makes in their personnel. Bodyguards will be calling in sick, leaving less experienced people available, people who will screw up and help get their clients killed.

"palestinian collaborator" = Yasser Arafat or one of his thugs

This is a strange report. Why would they give ANY hint how it was done? They might want to try the same thing next time. Unless, of course, the want the Palestinians to start looking for a kerry (some one who fights on one side while secretly favoring the other, like the Senator in Nam) among their own folks.
The Israelis should start calling cell 'phones in Gaza and, when some one answers, issue an obscure message in Hebrew and hang up.They'd eventually get a nervous bad guy who'd think they were after him.

This is a strange report. Why would they give ANY hint how it was done? It may have been done in a completely different way.
Causing Hamas to look for collaborators everywhere and to suspect bodyguards is a good thing.

[Rantisi's] disguise included an Arab cloak (Abaya) and headdress (Kafiyeh).
It was his fishnet stockings and stilleto heels that gave him away.

Rantisi was killed, along with two of his bodyguards, in an IAF missile strike Saturday night. I had heard initially that Rantisi's son was also killed and wife critically wounded. Is this not the case? If not then I am disappointed. I have always believed we must target the families of these scums.

Well, maybe his wife and son WERE his bodyguards!
The Palestinians have a habit of hiding behind women and children, and sending children out to blow themselves up, in case you have not been reading the news!
Of course, the Palestinian "leaders" always send their OWN children far, far away, to live in safety.
For example, Arafat's wife and child live in Paris. That's a very fitting place for them to live like kings, lavishly spending the money that was donated by other countries to make the poverty stricken Palestinian's lives better.
BUT!
Your comment that: "I have always believed we must target the families of these scums," is completely at odds with the the Torah, and the Jewish State that was founded upon its principles.
Deuteronomy Chapter 24:
[16] "The fathers shall not be put to death for the children, nor shall the children be put to death for the fathers; every man shall be put to death for his own sin.

Awsome Israeli intelligence work. Awesome, indeed. If the Arabs are ever going to defeat the Israelis it isn't going to be with brainpower. That would be like pitting a 286 against a supercomputer. If the contest were ever to come down to a single Israeli against the entire Arab population of the world, the Arabs would have to proceed with caution. Hardly fair at all, really.

I was thinking the very same thing. IT is smart to sow dissent and confusion but it is smarter to misdirect from the possible real source or method.

but it is smarter to misdirect from the possible real source or methodyes, like a highly placed mole in the Hamas leadership
