All-left radio is lacking the right stuff for success

The first time I turned on Air America, the new liberal radio network, I heard a commentator arguing that Republicans did not initiate impeachment proceedings against President Clinton because of Monica Lewinsky, Whitewater, lying or obstruction of justice. No, the man said, Republicans knew Clinton had committed no impeachable offenses, but they pursued impeachment anyway, in a diabolically clever ploy designed specifically to make the general public so disenchanted with the very idea of impeachment that they would not tolerate impeachment against the next (Republican) president — who, of course, deserves to be impeached immediately.

OK. That's about what I expected — liberal paranoia and conspiratorial idiocy to match the conservative paranoia and conspiratorial idiocy that Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity and their ilk have used to turn talk radio into a powerful forum that liberals now blame for every social and political malady this side of tooth decay.

There's a very simple reason for why they will fail. The liberal media deals entirely with feelings, not facts. More and more people are turning away from the partisan media outlets because they watch or listen to it, and see a total lack of logic. For instance, if you were to ask someone like Condi Rice a question, she will give you an answer. If you ask someone like John Kerry a question, He will answer you with another question that is designed to elicit some sort of emotional response ("well sir, what about blahblahblah? how do you feel about yaddayaddayadda?") When liberals are confronted with logic, facts, and reason- they resort to childish attcks, because the only thing they believe in (as they don't deal in logic, facts and reason)is their own personal power through government.
Oddly enough, I'm glad that they are pushing people like Franken and Garofolo out there, it shows just how far gone they are- and more and more people are beginning to notice and tune out! Why do you think they needed a court order to get back on the air in Chicago? Could it be they aren't making any money? And what's a lib's first solution to a problem like that? Court! Hah!

Am I wrong in believing that he was somewhat "shocked" by the content of Air America's programming?

I got the same impression. Evidently, he hasn't been paying attention to his compatriots, neither their anti-religious views, nor their lack of humor.

He even begrudgingly admits that Rush is funny and entertaining.

You almost feel sorry for this fellow. He listened to Air America for 17 straight hours. There should be a Masochist of the Year Award.

There's a local liberal talkshow host in Pittsburgh, Lynn Cullen, that I listen to occaisionally to stay up on what the left is talking about.

At one time I had a certain amount of respect for her because I thought she did a decent job of playing it straight up, however, for the past year or so she's really gone off the deep end and is almost unbearable. She is relentlessly depressing; gloom and doom and some more doom for good measure.

And yet it's the callers to her program that drive the shown right down to the 7th level of hell. There is not one conspiracy theory floated by the left that isn't accepted as gospel. W is a blithering idiot that has to have cheney tie his shoes in the morning.

But it's the crying, seriously the crying. So-called "men" call this show crying because their emotions get the better of them. "Oh it's another Vietnam", "oh those evil republicans", "oh, ashcroft is outside hiding in the bushes"

If this is what liberal radio is about no wonder they're having a hard time selling it.
