Yes, I think he can and should be treated. But it sounds like he's dirt poor . . . Can't even afford shoes. Maybe he'll get some donations as a result of this story. I hope so. If not, it's probably curtains for the poor man.

Given all the stories I've read right here on FR where some Third World kid and parents are flown to the US for treatment gratis, I hope some American doctor reads about him and decides to do likewise. Maybe some hospital wanting good publicity. Poor guy!
