GWB needs to set the stage just in case something like that happens. Since Spain is pulling out, GWB should gather the leaders of the coalition, and make some very harsh statements about Spain. Saying that the terrorists won. Spain is an example of how terrorists succeed and that America will never bend to the will of terrorists. GWB needs to make it clear that this tactic will not work in America. Then contrast that to John Kerry as often as possible. The vast majority of the public needs to understand that NOW, and through November, so if anything were to happen, the vote is already setup.
I respectfully disagree. This is the scenario I see:
Spain pulls out, Al Quaeda leaves Spain alone, and any other country that will bend to it.
When election time nears, Al Quaeda will, or will attempt to strike the US, prompting the ignorant masses to blame Bush for putting us in this war and incurring Al Quaeda and the Muslim world's wrath.
No, GWB needs to stand up before the world and thank the Spanish soldiers for their courage and noble contribution to the war on terror. He should say their courage and committment were very much appreciated and their work will be gratefully remembered by both the American people and the Iraqi people.
