I went to school with Jecory, Mark and Robert Barbosa, and I knew Ms. Barbosa. I barely knew Jecory. We had a class together and I knew he played football. Nothing remarkable to say. I knew Mark and Robert Barbosa very well. I know it is easy to think of Mark as a poor Mexican in a bad neighborhood who just got shot, but he was not that. He was brilliant. We discussed politics in depth of a regular basis. We never agreed, which meant they were always "lively" conversations. We also discussed the concept of culture on a regular basis. We tried to define the lines between religion, culture, and politics together. We did loose touch after high school. I wish we hadn't. I just wanted all of you to know something about him, that he was not just a statistic.
