A huge explosion was heard at the Erez crossing near the Gaza Strip when a Palestinian suicide bomber blew himself up.
Magen David Adom personnel at the scene of the explosion said they have treated four injured; one critically, one moderately, and two lightly.
The two lightly injured were transported to the Barzilai hospital in Ashkelon, and the seriously injured were flown by helicopter to the Soroka hospital in Beer Sheva.
Fatah and Hamas jointly claimed responsibility for the attack.
Fadi Al-Amoudi, 22, from Beit Lahiyah, blew himself up near the Magen 12 terminal, an army position adjacent to the Erez crossing.
He apparently blew himself up soon after he was inside the industrial zone, just outside the terminal.
Al-Amoudi was on his way to the Erez industrial zone where he had worked for some time.
Gaza commander Brig.-Gen. Shmoel Zaka told Army Radio that the suicide bomber successfully crossed an IDF checkpoint where magnetic and physical checks are carried out.
The army is investigating how he managed to evade the checks while carrying the explosive device, which he detonated soon after crossing.

Totally expected after Thursday's news. Wall them inside Gaza like rats in a cage and after a while they'll be committing suicide the proper way. ....without causing the deaths of innocents in the process.

Who gives a shite what his name or age is. All that does is give some credence to them. The NYT, Reuters and CNN and the others love to explain these personal profiles so sympathy can be given. We should only have reported his address and then it should be flattened and his relatives relocated to the nearest open field to live. Only when these slugs realize that there will be penalties for their entire clan, will they maybe stop this madness and not sign on to these terrorist groups.
One Israeli media source reports that one of the injured has died - thus was murdered, a Border Policeman.

Israel has to let in workers, or else it could face extreme world condemnation. It's its obligation as an "occupier."
