This was posted over a week ago with a slightly different title. I thinks it's good enough to be reposted. It's too bad it couldn't be reposted by the NY and LA Times, the audiences that really need to understand it and the supposed Vietnam analogy.
Analysis: A mini-Tet offensive ?

It was a coup by news correspondents, led by Uncle Walter.

The democRATS are doing their best to see that the home front collapses for the Iraq portion of the war on terrorism. The leader is ted kennedy.

It's too bad it couldn't be reposted by the NY and LA Times, the audiences that really need to understand it and the supposed Vietnam analogy. Too early, the election is an eternity away, in political time. Bush and his people will make the point clear in September and October, when the minds of the mushy middle are focused more clearly on what this election means.

The so called 'Vietnam' comparison is wrong is so many ways, but the only way that matters to me is that Vietnam didn't kill 3000 of us, on our own soil to start a war.
And to whomever, don't waste bandwidth on the Gulf of Tonkin incident...

In the sixties, the left-wing America-haters helped swing public opinion the enemy's way. Scary thought: today these same people (the ones that didn't o.d.) are now serving in congress, the state department, major media, you name it. I think they were more harmlesss when they were marching in the streets in torn-up blue jeans.

Hanoi's Easter offensive in March 1972 was another disaster for the communists.
Disaster? It seems they got what they wanted.
