Nor should they, some add. They point to Article 59 in the Transitional Administrative Law, a sort of pre-constitution, that begins: "The permanent constitution shall contain guarantees to ensure that the Iraqi Armed Forces are never again used to terrorize or oppress the people of Iraq."
The article states that Iraq will take part in the multinational peacekeeping force and will fight terrorism.
No it doesn't.

The US better take their weapons quick, until they are able to have their trust. Or else those weapons will be used against US forces.

Tradition from chaos takes time. Hopefully, if they get a few good ops under their belts, they'll have a foundation for some Esprit de Corps. Nothing like some pride in themselves to get their units moving.

"The article states that Iraq will take part in the multinational peacekeeping force and will fight terrorism. But many Iraqis aren't convinced the issues in Fallujah, Ramadi and Najaf are about terrorism. "
well they are being lied to by the anti-coalition Arab media and they arent being told the truth:
http://www.command-post.org/2_archives/008002.html Al-Qaeda terrorists who have infiltrated Iraq from Saudi Arabia and other Arab countries have formed a deadly alliance with former intelligence agents of Saddam Hussein to fight their common enemy, the U.S. forces.
...
In the past four months, it has smuggled millions of dollars, weapons and hundreds of Arab fighters across the desert border with Saudi Arabia.

Why is anyone surprised by this? Years ago as I read up on the first ME war after the U.N. recongnised Israel and England withdrew, it was surprising that even though the Arab states were united in their opposition to Israel, they would often fight each other and steal their weapons shipments. These people are about as loyal as the shifting sands.

Subsequent to 30 June, 2004, coalition forces should garrison themselves in fortified positions and allow the factions to slaughter each other. Wait for a cry for help from the survivors and go about reconstruction. Short of coalition forces just waxing the whole population, what else can you do with such backwards people.
