Far too many people go to college, which has become not even glorified high school.Far too many jobs, which never required a college degree,do so now, when an 8th grade education is about the level needed to to the job.A lot of kids NEVER get jobs in their majors, because their majors are either irrelevant or silly, or bogus,or over supplied.
Instead of looking at the numbers of college attendees of the past decade, look at what the stats were 3 and 6 and 9 and 12 decades ago.
And,FYI,it is NOT a function of government, to assure that everyone has the job of his/her dreams;it isn't even there function to make sure that everyone has a job at all!
Cheers!
Did you go to a glorified high school?
It depends --- an 8th grade education of today is not a level it was back a couple generations ago. My grandfather had to leave school after the 3rd grade but he did quite well in life and was definitely educated and literate but many getting high school diplomas today cannot perform simple math problems or read with any comprehension. We're starting to see a lot of that with college graduates now.
