I recently heard firsthand from a colonel who is way up in the Army recuitment organization: "I guess we are an expeditionary army now."

But they still can't stand anyone mentioning Marines.

Someone has. The new Chief of Staff has already started us moving in the right direction. Will take a while, though, to make up for years of budgets that wouldn't support sufficient ammunition for training. Frankly, with the exception of Infantry, we've largely lost the art of marksmanship training. Sad. Working to overcome it.
