Santorum and Bush are supporting Specter..and the PA Republican party is supporting Specter.....ALL for the obvious reasons. Toomey cannot win the general election.

I'm not crazy about Specter, in fact I once emailed him saying I would never vote for him again. But with the Senate so closely divided, it would be foolish to take the chance of handing it over to a Dem majority.

"Toomey cannot win the general election."

You keep repeating this as though you are programmed to say it. I go to Toomey events and find lots enthusiastic supporters. I go to events where both candidates are represented and I find lots of enthusiastic Toomey supporters and just a few Specter supporters. (Wait - Does it count if those supporters are his campaign staff?) I go to Specter only events and again, I find lots of enthusiastic Toomey supporters that outnumber Specters supporters and staff.

I have seen no grassroots activity on behalf of Specter. No signs. No bumper stickers. Nothing.

What are you seeing that gives you a different perspective?

Look, Bush is above this. Screw all this talk about having a divided Senate and risking it to the Rats. Specter has got to go - Trent Lott's ridiculous power-sharing agreement with the Rats almost done Bush in early in his Presidency. What more can happen? So what if Specter's a lame duck and he tries to fool around. You know how Bush is. He'll do another Jim Brown. Jim Brown was famous for faking hurt and letting his opponents think he's weak but on the next play he'll run over the opposing defenses as if nothing happened. He never missed an NFL game.
