America Needs Bush to Lead – Not be Oprah

Given the reaction to the presidential news conference this week, the following announcement is necessary. So here goes:
Oprah Winfrey is not the president of the United States.
George W. Bush is the president.
Sounds shocking? Perhaps only to those demanding a misty-eyed Oprah moment from the prime-time news conference.
I like Oprah, and she delivers emotion. Bush's critics wanted emotion too. They wanted feelings, perhaps a trembling lip, some guilty breast-beating, something juicy; oh, the humanity of it all.
They wanted him to take sound-bite blame for the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks that killed thousands of Americans.
The president could have given Americans something slick, some maudlin lip-biting-feel-your-pain quote. The last man in that office was an expert performer that way. The current occupant is a different fellow.

I think there is a huge disconnect between the Bush supporters and his liberal detractors. They don't understand that we COULD NOT CARE LESS about him blubbering about "mistakes" made before 9/11. WHO CARES? Nothing short of racial profiling would have found those guys.

What is it with liberals. They apologize all the time and for some reason they think it makes everything better. We don't want or need an apology from our president we need to get the SOB who was responsible for training those guys to fly loaded airplanes into the WTC. We need to track down every single person trained by or inspired by the kind of thugs who kill innocents. We need to make this world safer for our children and grandchildren. THAT is what we want from our president.
