Amazingly, during the previous month, John Wilkes Booth had rested on the exact same bed the President died on. In March, 1865, the room had been rented by actor Charles Warwick. One day Booth visited Warwick and fell asleep on the very same bed President Lincoln later died upon.

That I did not know. Very odd.

Booth also had business interests in NW Pennsylvania - Venango County. Primarily oil wells in Franklin/Oil City area. He started his journey to D.C. to assassinate Lincoln from Franklin, PA.

Yeah, but he was a Southern Sympathizer. He certainly couldn't have shouted, "Virtue, Liberty, and Independence" after shooting Lincoln.

As has been noted in history.. Lincoln was going to go very easy on the South. Sadly, his execution fueled south-hatred like never before, from all levels.

We still pay for this today.

No kidding Booth was a Southern Sympathizer! :)

There are a lot of intriguing angles in the Lincoln assassination and I offered up the Booth/oil connection as one of them.

WAIT

Booth = oil!
Bush = oil!
Bush killed Lincoln!

Was Dr. Mudd - who innocently treated Booth's leg, ever cleared? I remember a few years back his ancestors were trying.

(You do know that's where the phrase, 'Your name will be Mudd' came from, don't you?)
