I am not on the side of those that picket the Pentagon. In fact the Pentagon is not involved in this. I may want the Pentagon to take over this duty (reference to Red Ball Express was put there for a reason). So in a sense I am PRO - Pentagon over civilian contractors in this case.

Leave the discussion to those who can think, OK?

Do you know a study has been done on how much it costs to train and maintain a member of the armed forces versus cost of hiring civilians?Guess which one is more expensive?

The Red Ball Express was part of the Army, soldiers made up the Express. It kept our armies supplied ..and helped win the victory.Great story.

Did you wish the discussion left to those who think like you do ...or were you implying I cannot think?

That is my tax money (and yours) paying for this so it is my right and responsibility to question the appropriateness of how it is being spent.

It goes like this: If this was not being done by american contractors then the screams of 20bil wasted in Iraq might be true. As it is most of the 20bil is going to be awarded to american contractors it will be another boost to our economy.

Got it?

Don't try to run away from what you said. You called those brave men who died "professional soldiers for hire", which, as any "wad" knows, is the definition of "mercenary".

All the men hired were ex professional soldiers - who were hired to serve as bodyguards as I continued, thus you continue to be a wad.

First, your statement was "professional soldiers for hire". You did not use the qualifier "ex". And, as I've stated many times previously, the defintion of "mercenary" is "professional soldier for hire".

Let's say that I made the statement "Destro is a stupid person and a dolt", you could fairly accuse me of calling you a moron, because that is, in fact the definiton of "moron".

Second, you continue to make up things about these dead men. You say they were "bodyguards". In your original slander you said "They were guarding the people in the other vehicle which was allowed to escape." Now it has already been pointed out to you that they were guarding a convoy of food and goods. They weren't doing anything sinister.

But you are truly a dolt who even when told that said author of those words does not consider those departed men mercenaries you continue to think I mean it.

i.e. Nimordic behavior.

I think he got it, and that is what is bothering him; he'd rather see our economy crash long enough to get his man Kerry in.

So spending American money in Iraq is a jobs program? I think you are the one who works for Kerry. You sound like no conservative I would recognize.

No, spending money (and lives, unfortunately) in Iraq is a necessity if we expect to ever have victory over the form of terrorism known as islam. The need for logistics employees to be loyal (yes, they do have to pass security checks) should be obvious to you; if it's not perhaps you've been shooting too much novacaine in your ear.

It has become obvious to me that you have no idea what core conservative principles are. One of our most important principles is that government is a convention that is limited to specific powers and tasks, those powers and tasks being those powers and tasks that are enumerated in the "Constitution for the United States of America," and none other.

At the foundation of our conservative beliefs lies the belief that government should do only that which is best done by government, and if any task is readily accomplished by private endeavor, it should not be done by government.

Liberals, on the other hand believe, as you seem to, that any task that can be done by government, however inefficiently, should be done by government, and further, that government possesses any and all powers that it perceives itself to require in order to do that which it wishes to do, however illogical, or unconstitutional it may be. This is known as the "Little Blue Dress" theory of constitutional interpretation (invented by congresswoman Ellen Tauscher, a liberal not unlike yourself).
