I just don't care much for the term "rags", though I fully understand why such terms are used. Ah well, won't lose any sleep over it.

Jst to make sure you fully understand the reason why such terms are used.

Combat soldiers do not call the enemy, "The other sides soldiers "gentlemen", "fine oppossers" or "respectful men" is because they have to kill them, face to face. If you think of the enemy as a "gentleman who are worthy of friendship and respect" you will certainly carry that back to your sleeping quarters.

Waking up in the middle of the night knowing you killed two "gentleman who are worthy of friendship and respect" yesterday is not even a pleasant thought. Knowing you killed two of the lowest scum on the face of the earth is much easier to sleep with. Knowing you killed two men who would hang your corpse from a bridge as a trophy is easy to sleep with. Knowing you killed the two men who shot and killed your best friend is very easy to sleep with.

My point is that this becomes the ultimate of impersonal.
There is no feeling attached to the name itself, only to the person you're trying to kill.
