Interestingly enough, what I have witnessed is the exact polar opposite of the racism I've seen up north. The races treat each other with such dignity and respect - polite, sweet, talking with each other.

It's been an eye opener and pleasing to watch.

I'll be interested to see if even one other person besides me was watching MSNBC as the hearings began.

I tuned in to see if it would be another Matthews Fineman love fest and heard his comment. It gave me pause but when one considers that Matthew's rhetoric is filled with analogies and that butlers are usually white men, I thought it was a poor choice of words. On reflection the fact that it gave me pause was a red flag.

Even before the "servant" comparison, I red-flagged at the Fineman-Mathews concerted effort to blame Condi. Not Ashcroft, not Tenet, these two were engaged in a lengthy conversation, all about blaming Condi.

Starfan...Condeleeza Rice may have absolutely no interest in elected office, but the left has to fear the possibility that she might have, or develop higher goals. How awful would it be for a conservative black female to end up outshining Hillary, or for that matter, for the republicans to beat democrats to the punch with a black female Vice President.

Later he mimicked her by using in a pseudo feminine voice and batting his eyes.

Dr. Rice is a serious person with serious credentials but apparently Christ Matthews can't get past her race or her gender.

I believe he and MSNBC owe Sec. Rice an apology.
