Does anyone have the commission phone # handy? I'm furious about that "stay out of our business" crack.

Do you not love that these Commissioners want the public to sit through their statements, their laborious, tortuous questions, their press conferences and photo-ops, but they suddenly become thin skinned when we criticize them or doubt their credibility?
I hate to disillusion these commissioners but if they want abject adulation they are not going to get it. They have revealed themselves and their personal political motivations. Their enjoyment of the media spotlight will be responsible for the taint that now permeates the final report

I was on hold for a 2 full minutes, so I expect they're getting a lot of calls.
I'm shaking mad now. I told her that I was furious - how dare Kean say it's not our business after forcing Dr Rice to testify in his kangaroo court on national (hell - international!) television.

When you call ask if this is Ringling Brothers and Barnum and Bailey Circus?
Because they sure are acting like it!

I'm back. When I was in the car I remembered that I wanted to make note of Roemer bringing up the flights.
I did hear today 6 flights. Mueller seemed aware and said names were checked and some people interviewed, IIRC.
I keep in mind that Joe Klein said on Matthews' Sunday morning show about a month ago that those flights WILL be a campaign issue, so I'm listening for any spin they attempt. Just as well to get it on the table and clear the air now to cut off as much spin as possible.
I'm still reeling from Kean thinking he was obliged to bring up Ashcroft's flying arrangements--again. When I think of all of the good and decent questions that should be asked if the stated purpose of this commission was actually being followed, well, it just shows what a farce this is.
To: Don Munn
Too late for me. Why don't you call and say that? I like your way with words!

This is incredible that a politician would utter such a comment. And wasn't he appointed by President Bush? "stay out of our business." Who pays the bills? Who is this commission supposed to serve????? Sheesh. And that about sums up the problem with Congress. They wanna meddle in everything else, but they do not want any spotlight on them. This Congressionally appointed Commission is just like 'em. I'd like to send them a whole bunch of those new-fangled sonogram devices that are used in gynecologists offices nowadays. They deserve as much probing as the people they are scrutinizing.

On C-Span reporters are asking 9/11 Commission chairs whether Gorelick should step down or resign due to her Wall memo. Kean says no and that's it's a ridiculous question. She is in his mind one of the hardest, most fine and less partisan members of the commission.
WHAT?!
To: Coop
Certainly you are not shocked to read such a comment from that IDIOT?

Not only that, but he seems to be granting a certain contingent an ear to their concerns, i.e. bringing up Ashcroft flying situation again.
I am LIVID thanks to Kean
(really livid, not Janet Reno livid)
To: bornintexas
I do not believe that Kean told us to 'stay out' of government business. Tell me that speck of fly s*** that resides on the steaming heap of Dem excrement that this committee has become didn't tell us to bugger off!
This isn't his ball game. 'bout time We the People remind him of it. Call your Congresscritters. Shut this circus down before great harm is inflicted on this nation. This commission is just as dangerous as the terrorists that struck us on 9/11. Or even more so, as these criminals are still alive to do more harm!
