I don't expect Oscar acting. What I would prefer in lieu of stammering is poise and clarity ala Condi Rice or Cheney. Cheney can verbally filet an interviewer like no one I've ever seen. I would have like to see that tonight from Bush - the press corp deserved it.

Frankly, the press corp got WAY more than they "deserved".
I guess we will have to agree to disagree on this one.

Bush is not Cheney or Rice. He is Bush.
That's who we elected. That's who he is.
Why do you expect him to be what he is not?
Watch the end. It was powerful. Just plain powerful.

There was one substantial question tonight.
The rest were requests for apologies, for grovelling, for critiques of his style, for admission of mistakes....
What the hell kind of questions are these? Not one question on the economy, or on jobs, or on consumer spending, which are all looking up.
This was the most ridiculous press conference I've ever seen. It was filled with "gotcha" from the press, and Bush handled their vacuous bullshit with grace.
I'd spit on Terry Moran and David Gregory, and will, if I ever get the chance.

The heck with the press corp. The president did fine as far as I am concerned. Made his points and yeah, he did not apologize--imagine that?!!
