Well rested? Not bloody likely, with today's drive from hell...idiot drivers, lousy weather, and really hidious road signs in Jersey. :-(
Oh well, the actual vacation was fun,we had stunningly beautiful weather, and shopped my head off.:-)
It's gonna be a very long 203 days!
And thanks for the blush inducing compliments,my dear.

All I hope for is for Jayson Blair's book to clean Bill Clinton's clock on the NY Times fiction book list.

Amazing. I saw a President that told us what he felt and how he saw his duty to the country. Not tired, not fancy, not phony. A man with the toughest job in the world, doing it with a pure purpose.
The great communicator Clinton, lied to us, betrayed us and made the presidency an exercise in vanity. He never looked tired or searching for words. Those words poured out of him, albeit with with no meaning or heart.
You have a right to your perception. I am just amazed of how differently I perceived this press conference.

Please Freepers, if you can take a moment, please call the White House and let the President know we back him 100%. The phone numbers are as follows: Comments: 202-456-1111 Switchboard: 202-456-1414 FAX: 202-456-2461 E-Mail President George W. I'm not embarrassed by his honesty.Only a liar would be.
However, I am confident that I'm not the only one that saw President Bush as a little unfocused, distracted, unprepared, and drifting on several occasions. It seemed kinda obvious to me. Of course, I'm just giving my honest opinion.

There will be a rebroadcast on cspan....at the end of the press conference (time?) the host announced that one would be in "about 3 hours" and another at about 6am tomorrow morning.
To: LS
Brilliant analogy!
To: Jorge
Funny. I usually agree with you Jorge.
But I didn't see anything 'shaky and lacking composure' in his demeanor at all, and nothing even slightly embarrassing.
I DID see something that a hateful leftist media would grab onto in his hesitancy to come up with his 'biggest mistake,' but I don't see that anyone but a partisan would jump on that.
The rest was a strong, impassioned defense of why we must stay the course in Iraq. Not one person misunderstood him tonight, and that is the essence of good communication.
(And not fair, IMO, to compare him to Condi. Different roles. But I agree that she was brilliant).

After seeing/hearing him every day on TV for 8 looooooong years, incredibly large numbers of people paid fabulous sums of money to hear him even MORE. Unbelievable.Boggles the mind, doesn't it? He never does what he says, and what he says is mostly lies.
To: TEXOKIE
Try checking out www.cspan.org. They will probably have their schedule up.

"Wow, Pat Buchanan is into reality!
Give me a break. It's easy to spout off when your words carry no consequence. "
Its also easy to spout off when no one is watching and the rating indicate less than a half million viewers watch MSNBC.

jobs, health care, tax hikes, they don't mean a damn thing to me when the landscape might be smoking, charred and radioactive. Keep me and mine safe.

"I just find it frustrating that Bush, being a man of conviction, who has excellent judgment, who is a good and decent man and is honest and forthright, isn't able to exude the confidence that he really has and articulate his thoughts better."
No one's perfect.

Of course, I'm just giving my honest opinion.Well, yes, this is the standard reply from the DUmmies. "Blundering idiot", "Cowboy", etc., etc. Everyone is entitled to their opinion. You're correct, you're not alone.

Thank you for posting that! I just can NOT watch Larry King.
You've a stronger stomach than I have.

LOL! Unfortunately, not likely. Last I heard was that Blair's publisher had printed something like 250,000 copies and had sold only about 3,000. I grieve the loss of trees!
To: lonevoice
He was absolutely shameful tonight saying he supports the president's actions, but he can't support the president because of his lack of speech-making skills. This coming from Savage who's "speech-making skills" were bad enough to basically get him kicked off TV?????
I think Savage is projecting his own regrets over poor control of his own "speech" onto Bush.
Savage is a loser.
