That's the issue in point with one of Sandoval's comments:

Government should not be selling guns, a stone's throw away from where dozens of children are being shot and some murdered.

It's a sort of twist on the first amendment, a fictitious value for the separation of American culture and the state. Very weird. We can expect to hear it more often, I'd guess.
