The President and his family spent Easter Sunday at the Chapel at Fort Hood and then visited soldiers at the Darnell Community Hospital.
President Bush held a joint press conference with Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak, at his ranch Monday, April 12, 2004 in Crawford, Texas, discussing Sharon's plans for the Gaza Strip, among other subjects.
The President left for the Waco airport shortly after the completion of the press conference, and flew home to the White House.
The President announced that he will hold a press conference in the White House, Tuesday night, at 8:20 PM EDT.

Welcome "home". Hope you had a good vacation (?!?)

This is the TRADITIONAL defintion:
misery index An index combining the unemployment rate and inflation rate. The index is used to measure the political significance of the condition of the economy, as well as consumer confidence.
That has ALWAYS been the definition of the misery index for as long as I have been hearing about it.
HOWEVER, John Kerry is NOT using that definiton of "the misery index." He has made a new one up all for himself.
You see: if he used the traditional definition, it would look GREAT for Bush, so he had to "revise it".
Everybody who is surprised raise your hand.

2 Chronicles 20:17 - You will not need to fight in this battle; take your position, stand still, and see the victory of the LORD on your behalf, O Judah and Jerusalem.' Fear not, and be not dismayed; tomorrow go out against them, and the LORD will be with you."

Yes we did but I kept thinking that it was Twinkie who was on vacation.
If I'dda known you were coming to DC, I would have had you over for lunch!
But Twinkie is going to take me up on that offer in Mid-May.

***I am really getting tired of being 'ticked' off! I can't watch TV anymore. Its just not good for my blood pressure! I hope Pres Bush does a good job tomorrow. I really hope the journalists show him the respect he deserves***
Me too, to all of the above.
If they don't, I hope he gets very pointed with them, like he did with that one last week.
***His job is hard enough without ignorant reporters asking stupid questions.***
And the SAME stupid questions OVER and OVER and OVER again.
***I swear they all go to Stupid Question School!***
LOL!

Other than the usual two indicators, he's added cost of mortgages, median salary, cost of sending a kid to college for a total of SEVEN other indicators. He's made up his own MISERY index, which he blames the President for, of course.
Save your blood pressure - don't listen for it. I started swearing when I first heard it described.

Cater started it in 76...the problem is, if you use the formula like it's been used for years, Bush's is the lowest ever!!! It's the unemployment rate plus the rate of inflation, so Bush's is like 7.5%, Clinton's was 8.6 in 1996....So kerry had to change the rules in the middle of the game or he was going to lose if he used it!!!!

***...now if he can only stop worrying about his troops convoy to Kuwait...all will be well then.***
Will you please let us know when that is (if you can, safely) so we can say extra prayers at that time?

My hands are firmly planted down at my sides. :o)
Kerry is trying to create misery to get himself elected. He is despicable. (And stupid.........who wants to go back to the days of Jimmy Carter and re-create the misery index anyway??
Thanks, Truth for a GREAT set of pictures!
The President WILL prevail over these lies and attacks because the RIGHT is on his side, and he is on the side of the RIGHT!!

So is this what he is doing: telling everyone that the economy is miserable, the job market is miserable there fore we are miserable? And by hammering away at this with the help of the media pretty soon people actually believe they are miserable? (Uh oh, here comes that tick in my eye again!)

That's right, Larry King is supposedly going to be part of the former president's parachute jump in June, for 41's 80th birthday.
A quote from Bar: Needless to say, Barbara is not pleased. When asked then if it would be his last jump, Mrs. Bush said "You bet." This time she informed Liz Smith that "If the jump doesn't kill him, I will."
To: saberpride
Though it has been cited in practically every national (and many local) elections for more than a generation, this misery index was apparently not good or, perhaps, complicated enough for the Kerry camp. So they collected seven data points (median family income, college tuition, health-care costs, gas prices, bankruptcy rates, homeownership rate and private-sector job growth) to make their own index. All but one of these indicators home ownership have fallen over the past three years.
"We were trying to pick the kitchen-table issues," explained Gene Sperling, chief of Mr. Clinton's Council of Economic Advisers, and an architect of Mr. Kerry's economic plans. "We were trying to look at what are the things that most affect families' pocketbooks every day."
This newfangled misery index, in case you weren't confused yet, is measured in the opposite way from its better-known progenitor a higher number means less, not more, misery.

Just a few fashion comments (I can't help it!)
Barbara Sr. looks nice in her outfit--I haven't seen her in slacks too much. Or at all lately, for that matter.
George Sr. looks good--and has on the requisite red tie.
Barbara and Jenna look really cute! Maybe not too happy to be on camera, but it's nice to see them with their family. AND in attractive clothes, not the sleazy ones so many girls/women their age usually wear. I hope they'll campaign for their dad this year!
It was nice Condi spent the weekend with them; I don't think she has much for family. Cute outfit on her, too!

You know, just calling it a "misery index" is .....well....miserable!
To: Howlin
"Everybody who is surprised raise your hand." While I was in the car today, I heard a seminar caller, on Rush, with Roger Hancock as the guest host. He was so stupid as to first identify himself as being FROM A UNIVERSITY, and then while he was articulating the NEW misery index, used the inflation of tuition at UNIVERISITIES as an example! I kinda liked the way Roger handled him!
