I am sitting here in absolute shock and getting really depressed.

As a Viet Nam vet, I honestly feel that Rooney just spit on me and called me a "Baby Killer", as was done some 34 years ago in the San Francisco Airport.

Don't get depressed.

Rooney's been in journalism some 50+ years, and his recent venal and illogical screeds clearly show that he's going over the edge with senility.

Feel sorry for him, pretty soon he won't be able to write coherent sentences.

Then, let me wipe that spit off your face and thank you for serving me and my fellow Americans so well. I can't even imagine how you felt back then when people were doing that. I was called a baby-killer because I was at a pro-troop rally before Christmas. It sort of bothered me but it made me stop and think about what our Vietnam Veterans went through when they returned. I only had a small taste of it. You guys were treated horribly and I vow I will never let anyone say that to an American Veteran in my presence-ever!

This is NOT about you. You have more class and decency in your little finger than Rooney has ever hoped to have. Let CBS know how you feel.

Don't let your heart worry about this old turd. His best days were decades ago, and he knows it. He's a cynical, twisted, bitter leftist and simply doesn't have a case to make other than to take stabs at our military. Pathetic.

He's re-domonstrating that HE certainly can be counted among those that simply AREN'T WORTH DYING FOR. Lucky for him, our guys defend the likes of his miserable hide too.

And thank you for your service.

I have posted before my lament about an in-your-face liberal in-law who makes a "statement" at every family gathering.

For a year I have bitten my tongue in the interest of family harmony, but last night during Easter dinner when he launched into "we" have killed 10,000 Iraqis, I'd had quite enough. I did not conciously link my disgust of recent weeks reviewing Kerry's anti-war statements in the 70's, but in thinking it over this morning (and not regretting speaking up) I think that is what finally pushed me--that here was smearing of our fine troops as "baby killers" just as was done back then. I was not about to sit there on Easter listening to how horrible the U.S. is. No.

He left the table when I firmly said that we have done no such thing, that the Iraqi people want us there and are happy we're there and we are doing a good thing.
