Another person missing from the 9/11 commision is the "Joe Average" - the fickle voter. If we had inspected folks shoes/underwear at airports, harassed the Muslim population prior to 9/11 - the political opportunists would have attacked. And "Joe Average" would have voted for the Ted Kennedy / Al Sharpton ticket.
