From you: sex addicts and men addicted to porn ... These men are for the most part untreatable.
I think there is the misconcept that is driving the difference in point of view. There is a difference between being addicted to sex or porn and being a sex criminal.
The blood of Jesus cleanses us (those who believe in Him as Savior and Lord) of ALL sin. Sexual sin. Sexual addictions. I do not know the percentage of men who come under the category of being moderately or wholly in the grip of sexual addictions of one type or another, but from the research I've seen and the people I've talked with, I would venture to say that it is beyond all you would imagine -- or want to know. I am sure there are a lot of guys reading this thread who agree but aren't going to say so on the forum.
Cure rates for men who have committed sex crimes are lousy, but as in every other type of sin, the blood of Jesus can overcome it. Men who have not crossed the line into criminal activity do have less of a struggle to overcome addictions.
you are playing a strange game
When a sinner repents and wants to be free of his (or her) sin, confession is the outward starting point. Would you have guys keep this burning inside of them, eating them up, when they want to confess their sins and be cleansed, and have power to overcome them? It's not a strange game. It's the gospel in action.
Do you know Jesus in this way, as Savior? As Lord? As the one who overcomes sin as He lives inside a repentant sinner? If you have never been grievously bound by some sin and had no one to turn to for help, you will not find this easy to understand, but Jesus didn't come to save the righteous, but sinners (and we are all sinners). He said it is not the well who need a physician, but the sick. He got into the troughs, the pits of the worst of humanity in order to save us. If we say we are without sin, we lie. Men who know they have a problem with this, and confess it, touch God's heart and He will move heaven and earth to help them get free.
