Adults know we can't run war on a personal level. We don't negotiate and put the rest of our armed forces at risk for the sake of one person or one hundred. We're not trying to make Iraqi lives better because we want Euroweenies and monsters like Arafat and Al Sadr, bin Laden, et. al. to like us. If we don't take care of business now, we can kiss a modern, peaceful Middle East goodbye. It's a matter of pay me now or pay me later. Postphoning the inevitable, and frankly, the longer this goes on, the greater the weaponry expended and the greater the possibility that we'll have to nuke someone after they nuke us -- which our Euroweenie allies won't like. To this end, Bush has to forget the election and poll numbers and micromanaging the war. Bush has to concentrate on letting the military do what they do best, with all the equipment they need. His first priority is to protect this country, and that's what Iraq is all about. Simple.
