You start with a standard Weaver stance and then pull the hands straight rearward until the heels of the hands are making contact with the chest. Try it a few times with the slide locked to the rear on semi- autos, to get a feel for how close the slide will come to your body during cycling. You do not want the slide hitting you.
The crumpled Weaver has two advantages during close encounters of the violent kind. The first is weapon retention, making it harder for an assailant to grab the gun away from you with it being much closer to the body. The second is that it tends to elevate the muzzle somewhat making it easier to score face and throat shots at extreme close ranges. The face is the primary target.
It is used for ranges of 3 yards and closer, as the sights are not used. And as always, when using a marginal caliber, shoot for slide-lock.
