Ok I know there are WWI, WWII, KOR, and VN War dog stories out there. As well as Vet Wardog Handlers with a soft spot for their dog.

I went to Open House at McConnell AFB here in Kansas...
One of the most fascinating things to watch are the dogs and their handlers.
I will always remember the drunk redneck who was pestering one of the dogs in it's cage...a SSgt clicked and snapped his finger and that dog silently charged the drunk at full speed, coming to an instantaneous stop less than an inch from the fence...didn't growl, bark, or make a sound. Totally silent. Scared the heck out of that guy. Surprised me and my kids, too!!!

Thanks very much for posting this.....
Back in the spring of '69 ...A 9th ID Scout Dog had E&E'd his way through dense swamp and jungle lost for about 10 days he found my platoon... we were able to feed him and return him to his handler...
I got to take care of him for the rest of our patrol (about four days)...and really hated to turn him back in...but the reunion of the dog and his handler was worth it...

Thanks for posting this.
A friend, who was an AF Special Forces/K9 handler in Nam, and I recently discussed the lack of news re dogs in Iraq.
We wondered if dogs were being used. If they were used, where they being kept a secret due to the feelings many Iraqis have for dogs.
