Damn.

Sure, it could have been worse, but giving up an eye for a great cause is a high price for that Marine. I have not enough words of thanks that will make up for an eye, or an arm or leg, or a life.

Where do we find such men? I suddenly feel unworthy.

It is easy to see how people who do not understand how commited we must be to fighting this war can see these injuries and deaths as signs we should pull out.

It takes folks of extreme courage to fight for freedom. Thank God we have such folks willing to fight and die for freedom.

I have a very good friend who is somewhere north of Baghdad right now. His wife was in Saudi during the first Gulf war and now she is waiting while he is in Iraq.

The families of these brave soldiers really struggle, and they deserve our great respect and love.

I am so sick of hearing the "9/11 widows" groan and moan about losing their loved ones when other families are giving their loved ones to keep this country safe for those widows.

I am really fed up with the antiwar crowd and the lies of the left. Their constant harping is encouraging the Iraqi extremists and costing coalition (especially American) lives.

Yeah. I used to be proud to be an American. These days, I'm deeply humbled to be one.

It chokes you up when you think about it too much...I never was in combat in my career, but I almost wish I could be there and be surrounded by such brave men and women.

Where would our country be without them?
