WASHINGTON (AP) - A Muslim charity is seeking permission to have some of its money, which was frozen by the government, released for legitimate aid purposes.
The Holy Land Foundation for Relief and Development filed a request Friday to the Treasury Department's Office of Foreign Assets Control to unfreeze $50,000 to be sent to the Palestine Children's Relief Fund, which seeks to provide free medical care for Palestinian children in the Middle East.
The Bush administration in 2001 accused Holy Land, a Texas-based group, of financing the militant Islamic group Hamas and ordered U.S. banks to freeze its assets. Holy Land says it has never donated money or provided services to Hamas, a group the government says is a foreign terrorist organization.
The Treasury Department had no immediate comment on Holy Land's request. Last year, a Treasury official said the general notion of taking frozen charitable assets and releasing them for legitimate aid purposes was a complex matter worth exploring.

Donate the funds to the famalies of solders killed in Iraq, unless the Muslim group can prove that they did all they possibly could to fight terrorists. THOSE ARE U.S. GENERATED DOLLARS.

They really need this money to pay for bail for illegal Mexican criminal aliens captured trying to break into our country. And, they need it fast before US officers discovered that the official Mexican matricula cards they were carrying are fakes and that they are really Saudi kerrorists.

It's about time that some organizations were invetigated for support of terrorism. Having read American Jihad by Steven Emmerson, The Holy Land Foundation and other Islamic charitable organizations have been raising money for terrorist in this country for years. They function under the guise of religious, charitable or educational organizations. Publically they deny this, but privately support militant Islamic extremeist. The whole time that they bash the US, they are using freedoms under the costitution to accomplish their goals.

If the Palestinian children aren't healthy, how can they carry 30 pounds of C4 or semtex? Won't someone think of the children?

NEVER give Muslims anything except advice on how to run a society in which people can express their opinions without fearing that they will be stoned to death!
