Perhaps I was wrong to say he should go to Hell. But our society needs to stop being so tolerant of adultery. The breakup of the family is the one of the worst things that has happened to Western civilization in the last century. It would be one thing if he had a one night stand or an affair with his mistress. He could repent and be forgiven. By divorcing his wife and remarrying while she is still alive, he is living in sin. Now I haven't followed this story very closely, but it seems to me that he has no intention of ending his relationship with his mistress. Most of us feel remorse when we have sinned. As far as I can tell, he doesn't care. Who says I don't pray for him? I almost always make a special intention for the conversion of sinners when I pray. But I am sick and tired of people taking marriage lightly. Where is the outrage?

Welcome aboard RPTMS. In this venue, what do you think of John F. Kerry's morality?

Tell are you saying people should stay in a bad marriage no matter what? That is unrealistic and you know it.

Agreed but no one knows what goes on behind closed doors and while it takes two to make a marriage, it often also takes two to end one. Nothing happens in a vacuum.

Perhaps he should have ended his marriage to Sharon (who if she really spread this vile rumor about a toddler is not such sterling person either), before starting a new relationship. However, Neil Bush, like you and me, is only human and we ALL make mistakes. Perfection is the goal and few of us will get there.

>>It would be one thing if he had a one night stand or an affair with his mistress. He could repent and be forgiven.<<

He can still repent. Sharon can still forgive him. You don't need to be married for either action.

And advocating adultery but saying NO to divorce is Kerryesque IMO.

>>By divorcing his wife and remarrying while she is still alive, he is living in sin. <<

So far as I know, Neil Bush is not Catholic. Lots of people aren't and as such, don't believe as Catholics do. If you believe that, it's your perogative, but real Christians do not damn others to eternal Hell-fire. They leave that to a Higher Authority. The real point of Christianity is to hate the sin and Forgive the sinner.

>>Now I haven't followed this story very closely, but it seems to me that he has no intention of ending his relationship with his mistress. <<

That is his business, not yours. It is between him, his legal wife, his church, and God.

>>Most of us feel remorse when we have sinned.<<

"Most?" You seem fond of sweeping generalizations.

>>As far as I can tell, he doesn't care.<<

You have no way of knowing what the condition of his heart and soul is. You are judging him based on the condition of your own. Very Un-Christian, IMO.

>>Who says I don't pray for him?<<

You did when you made your Hell comment. You have displayed nothing but hatred and intolerance for a man you know nothing about on a personal level.

>>I almost always make a special intention for the conversion of sinners when I pray.<<

Good. Then you pray for yourself on a regular basis.

>>But I am sick and tired of people taking marriage lightly. Where is the outrage?<<

Your comments outraged me.
