You know, I got diabetes in my 20's (most people get it in the 50's-60's), before he was born, from Agent Orange, fighting for my country so that fools like him would have a place to be born and grow up in, safely (fool that I was - wasting my time and life to support idots trying to destroy everything I was fighting for).OK, some questions:
What unit were you in? What MOS? Where did you serve? What was your DEROS?

Well considering the recession ended in November of 2001 that would mean by May 2003 creating 6.8 million jobs. So, I'd say no, I don't want to take that bet.

Why? Are you accusing me of being a liar?
Go soak your head.
Whiich time? Which unit? Which place?
Take your pick - I was in Active and Reserve from 1962-1986. And spent 5 years in South East Asia fighting that war.
Ever hear of Operation Ranch Hand?

Why? Are you accusing me of being a liar? No, I was asking you about your service.
But you were awful damn quick to jump to that conclusion.
Claims of injury from "Agent Orange" (which wasn't its name) stem from the infamous "Winter Soldier" fraud that was supported (and, in part, led) by John Kerry. B.G. Burkett's book "Stolen Valor" does a fine job of demonstrating the falsity of said claims.
Whiich time? Which unit? Which place?
All of them.
Take your pick - I was in Active and Reserve from 1962-1986. And spent 5 years in South East Asia fighting that war.
Fine. Which units were you in? Which bases? Which dates?
Ever hear of Operation Ranch Hand?
Yes, I have. Were you involved in Operation Ranch Hand? In what role? Did you directly handle any herbicides?

Navy uses rates and NECs--the rate corresponds to an occupational field, while the NEC corresponds to an MOS.

Gosh. I wonder why.

Very well. You're unwilling to substantiate your claim of sainted victimhood--one made using a Stolen Valor favorite, to boot.

NEC is new to me ... I only knew of rate though I do know what an MOS is having served with and having many friends who are /were Marines
None the less ... I was an AME-3 Worked ejection seats LOX crew (fun stuff) and wore a green shirt on the flight deck.

NEC is new to me ... I only knew of rate though I do know what an MOS is having served with and having many friends who are /were MarinesMay have been after your time. NEC = Navy Enlisted Classification, and it's a four-digit number that narrows down exactly what you do. Guess they decided that sending a guy from an F-14 squadron to work on an F-18 was NOT A Good Thing :o)
None the less ... I was an AME-3 Worked ejection seats LOX crew (fun stuff) and wore a green shirt on the flight deck.
Remember the movie "The Man From LOX?"
BTW, I recently ran into a guy claiming that he'd been in "the 'Nam" who was only a few years older than me, so he was WAY too late.
I told him "The only 'Nam you were ever in was NAMTRAGRUDET." </obscure NAVAIR humor>

Thanks. Good job. Your good work and mine saved numbers of lives of those pilots and many others.
