This kid's a student at my school. I'm sorry, but this level of ignorance of facts (that relatively few Spanish voters crossed over from Popular to Socialist, but the defeat was mostly a result of high turnout of people who weren't planning to vote but decided that the Popular Party was responsible for the attacks in Madrid; that AL QAEDA is responsible for these attacks, not Spain or the U.S.), not to mention geopolitics, does not deserve to be published. This is one more reason why children under 21 (and I speak as a 19-year-old) should not be allowed to vote.

Sounds like this guy is wishing for the good old days when his views would have been considered scripture, and any conservative views vilified. I bet he hates the fact that he cannot win any arguments on the merits.

You are so right. As I recall, it was the 18-20 year old voters who gave Carter the victory in 1976, the first presidential election in which 18-year-olds could vote.

The really scary thing is what is happening now. Democrats are actually going around publicly saying that if the casualties mount, then George Bush is in trouble. The "insurgents" hear this and know what to do. They need to give us more casualties.
Democrats are asking for terrorists to kill more Americans in Iraq, so that they can win back political power.
Of course, Kerry is not going to come right out and say, "If ahhhhhh win in November, I prooooomise that I will withdraw aaaaall Americam troops from Iraq." Or has he? Did he say that and I missed it?
But the terrorists and their allies here in the US know that their best chance for acheiving their goals is President Kerry.
This may sound harsh, but it seems pretty clear to me right now. Just listen to what crat mouthpieces are saying.

This is appallingly ignorant, especially coming from the mind of a college student. You're absolutely correct, Mega. The fact is that Popular was leading in the polls before the attack and, as Condi said yesterday, we have to be right 100% of the time and the terrorists only have to be right once. Liberal policies could not have stopped those attacks, only keeping people like that on the run can.

You think so? The more experienced military knowledgable Dems (and Republicans outside this admin) seem to be calling for more troops in Iraq (as opposed to those who the closest they ever came the military service was driving past an Gurad office). I would think that Kerry could only go two ways once the reality of being President settles - maintain current force (or slight reductions with more allies, or increase the size of the military to deal quicker with the situation).
Rhetoric is one thing, but real actions is another. Once in office, things change.

I'm looking into getting our club a Senate seat on Student Government and just fleshing it out and expanding it in general. Political dialogue at UM is of substantially low quality--often even from the right, sadly enough.

I really think its time for conservative or Republican college students to take back their colleges! I am sickened by the liberal SOBs that are indoctrinating our kids with their crap. They should at least threaten to kick liberal ass or something to stand their ground!
