They think they should get about a billion dollars each for their loss...

I saw a discussion with a whole lot of the WTC families on MSNBC one day; some of the families actually said out loud that, why, yes, since you asked, MY husband was worth more than the people who worked in the restaurant on the top floor.

It was one of the most shocking displays of greed I have EVER seen in my entire life.

It is not my fault that they were living beyond their means with NO LIFE INSURANCE; it is not MY duty, nor yours, to keep these people in the style to which they have become accusomted.

They should sell their SUVs, pull the kids out of private school, unload the expensive house, and get a damn job, just like you and I would do if something like this happened to us.

While it's not a particularly nice argument...
I did sort of give a thumbs-up to my old homies (in Oklahoma) when a few of the
relatives of the OKC Murrah bombing victims started to ask "what were my loved ones -
chopped liver?" in response to some of the large cash settlements to
the survivors of WTC victims.

I'd not venture into the "how much is a human life worth" battleground,
but it was a bit fun to see some Okies show a bit of NYC "hutzpah"!
