Lord have mercy.

First, Rice was very charming when she finally corrected being called "Dr. Clarke". It garnered warm chuckles from the crowd. Here it sounds like she was brusque and terse.

Second, I am sick of seeing this type of "reporting":

During Rice's testimony before the 10-member commission in Washington, Kerrey referred to an Aug. 6, 2001, memo to President Bush that said the FBI had uncovered patterns of suspicious activity consistent with preparation for hijackings.

Dr. Rice brought up the hijacking reference in the memo herself much earlier in the testimony. I resent the implication from various and sundry reporters that Bob Kerrey "revealed" this aspect.

Clearly the effort is to make it appear Rice was concealing this information from the public when she did not.

Is it true (as I read on FR the other day) that Kerrey himself made a mistake when he was in Vietnam: destroyed a village, killing women, children, all inhabitants, but later discovered that it was the WRONG village and had not had been harboring any enemy insurgents?
